ABOUT ME
My name is Linsey Ladru. I live in the city that inspires me most, Amsterdam. With my makeup and paintings I try to convey a feeling and express myself. I see a face as a canvas with which I bring an emotion, experience or message into the world. Sometimes when I’m standing in front of a canvas, I don’t know in advance what it will become. But by communicating with the canvas or the person, a connection is created. I then go by my feelings and what presents itself in that moment is what I try to capture. By using my intuition, my creativity expresses itself both on canvas and on faces.
Like many others, I was searching, but with art and personal and spiritual development I have grown enormously and I have found my strength. Now, as a makeup artist among other things, I empower others. For me it is not only about applying makeup, but also about connecting with the person sitting in my chair. With integrity, love and openness I create a safe environment in which he / she can be him- or herself. What I strive for is that the person who gets out of my chair feels powerful and beautiful inside and out.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
I started at the Art of Colors makeup school, where I was quickly thrown into the deep with freelance internships and jobs at various clients, such as the Concertgebouw, Backstage and MAC Cosmetics. After that I completed a drawing course at the Wackers Academy, where I became acquainted with many drawing skills. These skills have given me new insights as a makeup artist. I then developed myself further at Pierot Coiffures, where I completed a hair styling course. I finished the Art of Colors makeup school and the master class Makeup and Hairstyling in TV and Film, where my technical makeup skills have grown even further. I have been able to apply this technical knowledge in commercials from IKEA, Albert Heijn, Kruidvat and more. I participated in body art at the TV programme Curvy Supermodels and did the makeup for the concert Vrienden Van Amstel Live under the guidance of Lydia Thann. I have also done makeup for many performances at festivals, such as Amsterdam Open Air, Mysteryland, Mystic Garden, Wildeburg and Garbicz and I have worked on the video clips of Rimon and Yseult.
